JIS G3472 Electric Resistance Welded Carbon Steel Tubes For Automobile
Delivery Time: 4-8weeks
JIS G3472 ERW Pipe Description
JIS G3472 resistance welded pipes are Japanese standard carbon steel pipes for automotive use, with size ranges from 15.9 mm to 101.6 mm. JIS G3472 pipes are made from hot-rolled or cold-rolled carbon steel strips that have been rolled from already rolled steel. In special cases, the buyer can specify that the delivered steel pipes be cold-worked steel pipes.

Post-Weld Quality Inspection for JIS G3472 Resistance Welded Pipes
- Appearance Inspection
This includes the following aspects:
1. Weld Seam Surface Inspection: Check for undercuts, slag inclusions, porosity, cracks, and other defects on the weld seam surface. These defects can be observed with the naked eye or a low-power magnifying glass.
2. Dimensional Defect Inspection: Measure defects such as excessive weld reinforcement, weld spatter, depressions, and misalignment using a welding inspection ruler.
3. Weldment Deformation Measurement: Check for any deformation in the welded pieces.
- Tightness Test Inspection
Common tightness test methods include liquid penetration, air tightness testing, ammonia testing, kerosene leakage testing, helium testing, and vacuum box testing.
1. Liquid Penetration Test: Primarily used to check non-pressurized containers, pipelines, and equipment.
2. Air Tightness Test: Involves using compressed air at a pressure much lower than the working pressure of the container. Soap solution is applied to the outside of the weld seam. When compressed air is introduced, the pressure difference causes bubbles to form at any leaks.
- Strength Test Inspection
Strength test inspections are divided into hydraulic strength tests and pneumatic strength tests:
Hydraulic Strength Test: Typically uses water as the medium and requires specific test pressures, usually 1.25 to 1.5 times the design pressure.
