JIS G3466 ERW Carbon Steel Pipes For Building Description
JIS G3466 is a Japanese industrial standard for carbon steel square and rectangular pipes used in civil engineering, construction, and other structures. The pipes should be made from welded steel pipes (resistance welding, forge welding, or automatic arc welding) or seamless steel pipes formed into a square shape. Alternatively, steel strips can be formed into a square cross-section or into a pair of groove sections and then welded together using resistance welding.
The pipes should be supplied according to manufacturing requirements and should not undergo heat treatment unless specified. If requested by the buyer, the pipes can be manufactured using coated steel sheets or coated steel strips.

JIS G3466 Types of weld defects in resistance welded pipes
- Produced A Large Number Of Pores
In the welding process, the welded steel body of high temperature metal will absorb more gas, in the steel body temperature reduction of the internal structure of the gas can not be discharged in a timely manner, the formation of cavities, affecting the welding work.
A large number of cavities, mainly due to the welding operation process, the flux is not completely dry, the arc bias blowing bias blowing formation.
- The Existence Of More Cracks And Crevices
In the welding process, steel by a variety of uncertain factors, the phenomenon of thermal expansion and contraction, resulting in welding in the process of welding in addition to the operation, the welding angle of the welder there is a slight deviation, the steel by the thermal impact of a large number of cracks and crevices.
- Too Much Slag
In the later welding process, the metal in the strip, point slag and related foreign matter will stick in the weld metal inside, the bevel inside to produce too much oil dirt, in the welding process affects the welding connection quality, the quality of the project is not guaranteed.
- Weld Speed Is Faster, The Steel Body Is Not Really Welded
Part of the welding technicians did not thoroughly in the mastery of professional welding
Technology, the operation method is not standardized, when the welded metal does not meet the welding standards, that is, when the metal is not melted thoroughly, the
When the welded metal does not meet the welding standard, i.e. the metal is not melted thoroughly, the steel body is welded together.
Due to the operation process, the welding speed of the relevant personnel is faster, the welding current produced on the steel body is smaller, and the gap between the metal is smaller, resulting in the occurrence of the phenomenon of the relevant steel welding is not solid.
