ASTM A513 Carbon Steel Mechanical Tubing

The types of tubes covered by A513 are Type 1a, welded hot rolled steel (with rolled scales); Type 1b, welded hot rolled pickled and oiled steel (with rolled scales removed); Type 2, welded cold rolled steel; Type 3, hot rolled steel undercut and drawn; Type 4, cold rolled steel undercut and drawn; Type 5, mandrel drawn; and Type 6, special smooth inside diameter. Thermal and product analyses must be performed to determine the percentage of chemical elements with which the steel specimen must comply. Tubing shall be free of any deleterious defects and shall have a good finish. Where specified, tubing shall be coated with a rust-resistant oil film prior to shipment.
