Precision Cold Bending Forming of ASTM A500 Class B High-Frequency Resistance Welded Pipe (ERW)
ASTM A500 Class B high-frequency resistance welded pipe utilizes multi-stand progressive rolling technology. A servo motor-driven forming stand progressively bends the steel strip into a tubular shape through 14-22 precision rolling passes. The system monitors the pipe blank profile accuracy in real time using a laser diameter gauge, and automatically adjusts the reduction of each stand using a PLC, controlling the outer diameter tolerance within ±0.5%. Simultaneously, a tension control system ensures the pipe straightness is ≤1.5mm/m, guaranteeing that the welded pipe meets the stringent dimensional requirements of ASTM A500 standard for structural pipes.
