2. Main certification requirements
Product testing items
Mechanical properties: tensile strength, yield strength, elongation and other indicators need to be tested to evaluate the performance of steel pipes under stress.
Chemical composition: Analyze the content of elements such as C, Mn, P, and S to ensure that the chemical composition of the steel pipe meets the standard requirements. Different element contents will affect the performance and quality of the steel pipe.
Welding quality inspection (for welded steel pipes): inspect the quality of the weld to ensure that the strength and sealing of the weld meet the standards.
3. Key points of factory audit
Quality management system: It is recommended that enterprises have an ISO9001 quality management system, which helps enterprises establish an effective quality control and management mechanism to ensure the stability of product quality.
Raw material traceability system: Enterprises need to establish a complete raw material traceability system so that they can trace the source and use of raw materials when quality problems occur, and take timely measures to solve the problems.
4. Special certification requirements for different types of steel pipes

Personnel requirements: Personnel with quality management qualifications must work in KS-certified enterprises for more than 3 months. Quality management industry technicians and technicians have or completed quality management education and training sponsored by the Korean Standards Association. They can obtain quality management qualifications only after passing the examination
Production equipment: Enterprises should have equipment such as slitting equipment, drying equipment, heat treatment equipment, compression or drawing equipment, correction and shearing equipment, pickling equipment, branching equipment, Vilite cutting equipment and polishing equipment that can produce certified products. However, according to process management regulations, non-essential equipment may not be equipped.
Inspection equipment: Enterprises need to have universal metal material testing machines, chemical analysis equipment, dimension measuring instruments and other equipment that can detect product performance, and have the ability to directly detect. If external equipment is used on a fixed cycle or replaced by an external inspection report, the enterprise may not have chemical analysis equipment.

Quality Management Personnel: Factory staff who want to obtain certification must have the qualification of quality management person in charge, such as the quality management person in charge certificate of the Korean Standards Association. This certificate can be obtained by participating in the quality management person in charge training sponsored by the Korean Standards Association and passing the examination4.
Manufacturing Equipment: The main manufacturing equipment includes slimming equipment, pipe equipment, extrusion or drawing equipment, heating equipment, heat treatment equipment, pipe auxiliary equipment, correction and cutting equipment, piston equipment, etc. There are exceptions such as no need to equip slimming equipment and thick pipe equipment when producing steel billets. At the same time, the company must inspect, repair, and lubricate the equipment to ensure that the equipment performs well, and confirm the direct production status of the equipment during the factory inspection.
5. Inspection Equipment: It is necessary to have chemical analysis equipment, universal metal material testing machine, dimension measuring instrument, microscope, air pressure test equipment or non-destructive test equipment, water pressure test equipment, seepage performance test equipment and other equipment that can inspect the certified products and have the ability to directly detect. In order to make product management reach the level of Korean Industrial Standards (KS), a certain period is established. When using external equipment or using test results from external recognized testing agencies instead of quality management, it is not necessary to have test and inspection equipment for its test items. However, when using external equipment other than recognized testing agencies, on-site confirmation of external equipment companies can also be carried out during factory inspections.
