Difference between A500 square welded pipe and A500 round welded pipe

 Shape and structure

  • A500 Square welded pipe: with square cross-section, it has solid structure and strong load-bearing capacity, which is suitable for structural support that requires high load, such as building frames, machinery manufacturing and so on.
  • A500 Round welded pipe: round cross-section, smooth and elegant, excellent in liquid and gas transportation, effectively reducing fluid resistance and improving transportation efficiency.

 Mechanical Properties

  • Advantage of A500 square pipe: higher bending and tensile strength, cross-section shape close to rectangular, so more durable, suitable for occasions requiring high bending and tensile strength.
  • Advantage of A500 round tube: Higher compressive and torsional strength, because the round cross-section is the most symmetrical shape, able to evenly distribute pressure and torque.

 Processing

  • A500 Square Welded Pipe: Usually made of steel plate or steel strip rolled to shape and welded, then enhanced with hot-dip galvanizing process for corrosion resistance.
  • A500 Round Welded Pipe: Made from black iron pipe through multiple processes, the same hot-dip galvanizing process is used to ensure that the inner and outer walls are uniformly coated with zinc, making it suitable for use in a variety of environments.

 Uses

  • A500 Square welded pipe: widely used in construction steel structure, machinery manufacturing, bridge construction, power tower, solar photovoltaic, communication grid, etc., especially in projects requiring high strength support and stabilization of the structure.
  • A500 Round welded pipe: mainly used for transportation of fluids and gases, such as water supply pipes, natural gas pipelines, oil pipelines in the petroleum industry, etc., due to its round design to reduce fluid resistance and improve the efficiency of transportation.
