Production Technology of JOCE Straight Seam Submerged Arc Welded Pipe/Tube

The JCOE forming process is the core cold forming technology for the production of straight seam submerged arc welded pipes. Its process includes three key stages: First, the edges of the steel plate are precisely pre-bent using a J-type die to eliminate straight edges generated during subsequent forming; next, multiple progressive bending operations are performed using a C-type die to gradually bend the steel plate into an open pipe shape; finally, the seam is closed and rounded using an O-type die to form a precise circular pipe. This process, combined with subsequent mechanical diameter expansion, effectively eliminates forming stress, improves the dimensional accuracy of the pipe, and ensures excellent roundness and straightness of the steel pipe, laying the foundation for high-quality submerged arc welding.

JCOE welded pipes undergo rigorous full-process inspection: First, ultrasonic testing is used to scan 100% of the pipe body and weld seams to ensure no internal defects; then, X-rays are used to randomly inspect and verify the welded joints, accurately identifying microscopic flaws; all pipe fittings must pass hydrostatic pressure tests to verify pressure-bearing and sealing performance, and samples are taken for tensile, bending, and Charpy impact tests to verify mechanical properties; simultaneously, a laser measurement system is used to fully inspect dimensional parameters such as pipe diameter, roundness, and wall thickness to ensure that the products fully comply with the requirements of EN 10217 standard.
