S235JR Longitudinal Arc Welded Pipe
Large Diameter Straight Seam Welded Pipe Product Introduction
The production method of Straight seam submerged arc welded pipe, straight welded pipe is to first roll steel strip or steel plate into a pipe blank, and then use electric arc welding to weld at the straight seam, thereby producing a steel tube with a continuous straight weld seam. Electric arc welding uses an electric arc as a heat source to generate a strong arc between the welding rod (or welding wire) and the workpiece (i.e., the straight seam of the pipe blank). The high temperature generated by the arc melts the edges of the workpiece and the welding rod (or welding wire), forming a molten pool. After the molten pool cools and solidifies, the straight seams of the pipe blank are joined together to form a complete steel pipe.

SAWL Welded Pipe Production Process
Steel Strip Preparation: First, select steel strip or plate of suitable specifications. The material should be determined based on the final application of the steel pipe.
Rolling: Roll the treated steel strip into a pipe blank using equipment such as a plate rolling machine, forming a straight weld seam by butt-jointing the two ends of the steel strip. During this process, attention should be paid to controlling the dimensional accuracy of the pipe blank. Welding parameters such as electrode (or welding wire) type, welding current, voltage, and welding speed should be rationally selected based on factors such as the material and wall thickness of the steel pipe. Commonly used arc welding methods include manual arc welding and submerged arc welding. Manual arc welding offers high flexibility and is suitable for welding small batches of irregular weld seams; submerged arc welding offers high welding quality and high production efficiency, and is suitable for welding large batches of regular weld seams.
Post-Weld Treatment: After welding, the weld seam must be treated. Treatment includes removing slag, spatter, and other impurities from the weld surface, and performing non-destructive testing (such as ultrasonic testing, X-ray testing, etc.) to check for defects such as porosity and cracks inside the weld seam. If defects are found, they must be repaired promptly.
Subsequent processing: Depending on the specific use of the steel pipe, some subsequent processing may be required, such as cutting it to a suitable length, or performing surface treatments (such as galvanizing or painting) to improve the corrosion resistance or aesthetics of the steel pipe.
