High-Frequency Welding, HFI Pipe Manufacturing Process and Quality Assurance

The main production process includes uncoiling and leveling → forming → high-frequency welding → deburring (internal and external) → weld heat treatment (optional) → sizing and straightening → length cutting → inspection and warehousing. Local normalizing of the weld is a key optional process that effectively eliminates welding stress, refines grains, and makes the mechanical properties of the weld area more consistent with the base material, greatly improving the overall quality and safety of the product.

High-Frequency Induction Welding, HFI Pipe

High-frequency induction (HFI) resistance welding technology is used for longitudinal welding. Continuous strip steel is rolled into an open tube using a rolling mill. A high-frequency circular current is induced inside the tube, converging at the weld point along the strip edge. The required welding temperature is generated by resistance heating of a narrow area at the strip edge. The heated strip edges are then pressed together by pressure rollers to form a uniform longitudinal weld. Subsequently, the HFI-welded tube undergoes multiple induction annealing processes to ensure the weld area's properties match those of the base material. Afterward, the continuous tube is straightened, rolled to a fixed diameter, and finally cut to the required length using a flying saw.
