16Mn welded round steel pipe Description
16Mn welded pipe is a steel pipe made from the low alloy, high strength structural steel 16Mn (Q345) as raw material through the welding process, and is divided into two types: LSAW and Spiral welded pipe12 . It is divided into two types: LSAW and Spiral Welded Pipe.
Chemical composition: carbon content of 0.1%-0.25%, mainly added manganese (Mn), silicon (Si), vanadium (V), niobium (Nb), titanium (Ti) and other alloying elements, the total amount of alloy is less than 3%.
Mechanical properties: yield strength ≥ 345MPa, tensile strength 470-630MPa, elongation ≥ 22%, suitable for high pressure scenarios.
Physical properties: density 7.85g/cm³, modulus of elasticity 200GPa, thermal conductivity 53W/(m-°C), coefficient of thermal expansion 11×10-⁶/°C (20-100°C).
Comparison with other materials
Q235 welded pipe: 16Mn has a significantly higher yield strength (345 MPa) than Q235 (235 MPa), making it suitable for higher load scenarios.
Q345C: Q345C is an optimised version of 16Mn for low-temperature toughness, whereas 16Mn focuses more on conventional welding properties.
