20# Welded Carbon Steel Pipe Description
20# Welded Round Pipe is a kind of welded steel pipe which is made of 20# low carbon steel as raw material, and welded into shape by curling the steel strip or steel plate into a round shape, which is a kind of welded steel pipe.
Structural characteristics of 20# welded round pipe:
Round cross-section, the presence of welded seams (straight or spiral) on the surface, using high-frequency resistance welding or submerged arc welding process to complete the seams;
Compared with seamless steel pipe, 20# welded round pipe has higher production efficiency and lower cost, but weaker pressure-bearing capacity.
Material properties of 20# steel pipe
Chemical composition: the carbon content of 20# steel is 0.17%-0.24%, with low sulfur and phosphorus impurities, belonging to low carbon steel;
Mechanical properties:
Yield strength of about 245 MPa, tensile strength of about 410 MPa, excellent plasticity and toughness, easy cold working (such as bending, stamping);
Welding performance is good, no temper brittleness, but the hardenability is weak.
