L485 SSAW Pipe Description
L485 spiral welded pipe is a large diameter steel pipe made of L485/X70M low alloy high-strength steel as raw material through spiral forming and welding process, which belongs to the high steel grade pipeline material in API 5L standard, corresponding to the international standard X70 grade. It belongs to high steel grade pipeline material in API 5L standard, corresponding to X70 grade of international standard, with minimum yield strength of 485MPa, and is widely used in high-pressure fluid transmission and complex engineering structures.
Execution standard: Comply with API 5L PSL2 (oil and gas industry pipeline standard) and GB/T 9711 (China oil and gas steel pipe standard). Model identification: partly labelled as L
Model identification: partly labelled as L485M, 'M' indicates that the material has low-temperature toughness (e.g. -20℃ below still maintains the toughness). (e.g. -20℃ below still maintain impact resistance).
Material composition:
Low carbon design (carbon content ≤0.22%), sulfur and phosphorus content ≤0.03%, adding manganese (Mn), silicon (Si) and trace niobium (Nb), vanadium (V) and other alloying elements to optimise the grain structure and improve strength .
Mechanical properties:
Yield strength ≥ 485MPa, tensile strength 520-760MPa, elongation ≥ 20%, can withstand high-pressure transport needs 23.

Comparison with lower steel grades: Compared with L360 and L415 steel pipes, L485 has higher yield strength (≥485MPa) and can withstand higher pressure or complex loads.
Comparison with LSAW pipes: Spiral forming process can produce extra-large calibre pipes (e.g. Φ3500mm) at low cost and the stress distribution in the weld seam is more uniform
