L320 ERW Pipe Description
L320 is a low-alloy high-strength pipeline steel. The "320" in the name represents its minimum yield strength of 320MPa, which meets the strength requirements of pipeline steel in API 5L and other standards.
Chemical composition: It is based on ferrite-pearlite, has a low carbon content (≤0.16%), and alloy elements such as manganese and silicon are added to optimize toughness and welding performance.
Production process
Resistance welding (ERW) process: The edge of the strip is heated to a molten state by high-frequency current, and a continuous straight seam weld is formed by pressurization. It has the characteristics of narrow heat-affected zone and high production efficiency, and is suitable for the manufacture of small and medium-sized pipes (such as DN50-DN400).
Process adaptability: Compared with spiral welding or submerged arc welding (such as L320N double-sided submerged arc welded pipe), resistance welding is more suitable for standardized mass production and has lower cost.
Performance advantages
High strength: The yield strength is above 320MPa, which can withstand the transportation requirements of medium and high pressure fluids (such as natural gas and oil).
Corrosion resistance: The surface of some products is covered with epoxy powder or polyethylene (PE) coating to enhance the ability to resist soil and water corrosion.
