Q235 carbon steel ERW welded pipe is a type of carbon structural steel. This steel is typically smelted in a converter or open-hearth furnace. Its main raw materials are molten iron and scrap steel. The sulfur and phosphorus content of this steel is higher than that of high-quality carbon structural steel. Generally, the sulfur content is ≤0.050%, and the phosphorus content is ≤0.045%. Other alloying elements from the raw materials, such as chromium, nickel, and copper, generally do not exceed 0.30%. Depending on the composition and performance requirements, the grades of this type of steel include Q195, Q215A, B, Q235A, B, C, D, Q255A, B, Q275, etc.

This type of steel has the largest production volume and the widest range of applications. It is rolled into plates, profiles (round, square, flat, I-beam, channel, angle, etc.) and welded steel pipes. It is mainly used in building structures such as factories, bridges, and ships, as well as general fluid transportation pipelines. This type of steel can generally be used directly without heat treatment.

Q235 welded steel pipes are used to transport low-pressure fluids. The specifications of welded steel pipes are expressed in nominal diameter (millimeters or inches). The nominal diameter differs from the actual diameter. Based on the specified wall thickness, welded steel pipes are divided into ordinary steel pipes and thick-walled steel pipes. Based on the pipe ends and threads, steel pipes are also divided into two types.
