API 5DP Drill Pipe Grade S135

API 5DP drill pipe is the basic part of the drill string. Its main function is to transmit torque, transport drilling fluid, connect and extend the drill string, and deepen the wellbore. Both ends of the drill pipe body are thickened to enhance the strength of the connection part. Thickening is divided into three types: internal thickening, external thickening, and internal and external thickening. The common diameter of API drill pipe refers to the outer diameter of the drill pipe body, expressed in millimeters or inches. Common drill pipe sizes are (in) 2⁷/⁸, 3½, 4, 4½, 5, 5½.
