The welding process for large-diameter thick-walled straight seam welded steel pipes adopts double-sided submerged arc welding technology; manual welding can also be performed after the steel pipe is formed.

After overall mechanical expansion, the internal stress of the steel pipe is low and evenly distributed, effectively preventing stress corrosion cracking. It has high dimensional accuracy and facilitates on-site welding construction. Employing a pre-welded, precision-strength process, the welding process is stable, resulting in high-quality welds. The welds are easily inspected non-destructively during production and can be re-inspected on-site during use. Compared to welded steel pipes with non-straight welds, the welds are shorter, reducing the probability of welding defects. A wide range of product specifications is available, enabling the production of both small-diameter, thick-walled and large-diameter, thick-walled steel pipes.
