The A691 Grade 9CR "Specification" covers electric-fusion welded alloy steel pipe with the addition of filler metal, made from pressure vessel quality plate of various analysis and strength grades, suitable for high temperature and pressure service. Heat treatment may or may not be required to achieve the required mechanical properties or to comply with applicable specification requirements.
A691 9CR covers pipe 16 inches [400 mm] outside diameter and larger, with a wall thickness of 3 inches [75 mm] or less. Other sizes may be available provided all other requirements of this specification are met.
