A691 Chrome Moly Alloy Welded Pipe

A691 covers electrofusion-welded carbon and alloy steel tubes with added filler metals, made from pressure vessel-quality steel plates of various compositions and strength grades for high-temperature and high-pressure service. Heat treatment may or may not be required to achieve the desired mechanical properties or to meet applicable code requirements. Supplementary requirements are provided in this specification for use when additional testing or inspection is necessary.

A691 covers pipes with an outside diameter of 16 inches [400 mm] and larger, and a wall thickness of not more than 3 inches [75 mm], inclusive. Other sizes of pipes may be furnished, provided all other requirements of this specification are met.
