ASTM A252 GR.2 GR.3 Steel Piles Pipe

ASTM A252 is applicable to pipe piles where the steel pipe is used as a permanent load-bearing member or as a shell to form cast-in-place concrete piles.

A252 is divided into three grades with increasing mechanical properties.

They are: Grade 1, Grade 2, and Grade 3.

Grades 2 and 3 are the most commonly used grades in ASTM A252, and the properties of these two grades will be described in detail next.

Manufacturing Process

ASTM A252 can be manufactured by seamless, electric resistance welding, flash welding, or fusion welding processes.

In pipe pile applications, seamless steel pipes provide excellent support due to their high strength and uniform force characteristics.

In addition, seamless steel pipes can be manufactured with very thick wall thicknesses, which enables them to withstand greater stresses, further enhancing their reliability in supporting structures.
