Metal Jacketed Gasket is a composite sealing element made by using non-metallic materials (flexible graphite, asbestos rubber sheet, ceramic fiber) as the core material and externally covering them with 0.25–0.5 mm thin metal sheets through cold working processes. The outer shell materials include stainless steel, aluminum, copper, etc.
Based on cross-section, it is divided into flat type (Type F) and corrugated type (Type C). It is suitable for flange sealing in pressure vessels such as heat exchangers and reactors, as well as pump valve pipelines, with operating pressures mostly falling under medium-low pressure conditions.
The gasket requires processes such as cutting, welding, and shaping to be manufactured. Square gaskets must have their corners forged integrally and use argon arc welding technology.
