API 5L X60 welded steel pipe‌ is a pipeline steel standard developed by the ‌American Petroleum Institute (API)‌ and internationally recognized for oil and natural gas transmission pipelines. The ‌X60‌ grade within this standard-where "X" denotes pipeline steel and "60" indicates a ‌minimum specified yield strength of 60,000 psi (approximately 414 MPa)‌-is primarily used in ‌large-diameter, longitudinal-seam welded pipes‌ for long-distance, high-pressure oil and gas transmission systems.
