What is the meaning of STPG pipe?
STPG pipe stands for Carbon Steel Pipe, which is usually used for pressure service. The standard for this type of pipe is JIS G 3454 (1990), and the main grades are: STPG 370, STPG 410, STPG 480 are mainly used in Japan for steel pipes used in pressure service at temperatures close to the maximum of 350°C. Carbon steel pipes, which STPG stands for, are widely used in petrochemical and other fields, especially in scenarios where high pressure resistance is required.
JIS G 3454 is a Japanese Industrial Standard (JIS) that is mainly used to define specifications and requirements for steel pipes for general piping. These pipes are mainly used for the transport of low and medium pressure fluids such as water, gases, etc. JIS G 3454 covers pipes with outside diameters ranging from approximately 15.88mm to 89mm and wall thicknesses ranging from 2.6mm to 12.5mm.This standard reflects Japan's specific needs and criteria for piping materials, and is suitable for industrial applications that require pressure and temperature resistant properties.
