A672 C60 steel pipe is an electric fusion welded carbon steel pipe used in medium and low temperature high pressure pipeline systems. Its core material characteristics are as follows:
1. Basic material properties
Material nature
Low carbon manganese steel, carbon content ≤0.30% and phosphorus and sulfur impurities are strictly controlled at ≤0.025% to ensure low temperature toughness.
Nickel-free design: By optimizing the ratio of manganese (about 1.00%-1.60%) and silicon elements, low temperature service capability is achieved and material cost is reduced.
Metallurgical standards
The base material is made of A516 Gr.60 medium and low temperature pressure vessel steel plate rolled and welded1, which meets the C60 strength grade requirements in the ASTM A672 standard.
2. Core performance parameters
| index | Technical requirements | Performance Advantages |
|---|---|---|
| Yield Strength | ≥414 MPa(60ksi) | Carrying medium and high pressure fluid delivery system |
| Tensile Strength | ≥485 MPa | Excellent deformation resistance |
| Low temperature toughness | -46℃ Impact energy ≥27J (CL22 level) | Adapt to extremely cold working conditions such as LNG |
| Elongation | ≥17% | Ensure the feasibility of cold processing technology |
3. Manufacturing process features
Forming technology
Straight seam electric fusion welding: high-frequency current skin effect is used to heat the edge of the tube billet, and then it is formed by extrusion roller pressing;
Weld seam treatment: 100% radiographic flaw detection ensures density.
Heat treatment process
Stress relief annealing (corresponding to CL22 classification), eliminate welding residual stress, and improve low-temperature stability.
4. Typical application scenarios
Energy field
LNG storage tank low-temperature transmission pipeline (-46℃ environment);
Power station medium-temperature high-pressure water supply system (≤480℃).
Industrial pipeline
Petroleum and natural gas gathering and transportation pipeline;
Chemical medium and low-pressure transmission pipeline
