ASTM A795 pipe is a carbon steel pipe specially used for fire protection system, with special composition design and process requirements. Its main characteristics and applications are as follows:
1. Core characteristics
Composition design
Low carbon content (0.15%-0.35%), taking into account toughness and strength requirements.
High sulfur and phosphorus control (sulfur 0.035%-0.075%, phosphorus 0.045%-0.09%), optimize welding performance but pay attention to corrosion resistance.
Alloy elements such as chromium, nickel, and molybdenum can be added to improve corrosion resistance.
Dual process manufacturing
Supports both welding process (mainstream) and seamless process to adapt to different pressure scenarios.
Surface standard hot-dip galvanizing treatment (zinc layer ≥85μm) significantly enhances corrosion resistance.
Mechanical properties
Yield strength ≥180MPa, tensile strength ≥325MPa, meet the pressure requirements of fire protection system.

2. Core application areas
Fire protection pipelines
Building fire sprinkler system trunk/branch pipelines ;
Fire hydrant water pipelines and emergency water supply networks.
Special scenario expansion
Low temperature environment pipelines (such as -46℃ working conditions) ;
Chemical equipment auxiliary pipelines (customized alloy reinforced version required).
️
3. Procurement and construction points
Quality verification
Check the thickness (≥85μm) and uniformity of the galvanized layer ;
Must check the weld quality (welding process pipe) and flattening/bending performance .
Replacement restrictions
High temperature boiler tubes (such as SA178) or high pressure structural tubes (such as A500) cannot be replaced.
