What is a high pressure ball valve

High-pressure ball valves are primarily used to shut off or connect media in pipelines and can also be used for fluid regulation and control. The hard-seal V-type ball valve, with its V-shaped core and carbide-hardened metal seat, provides strong shear forces, making it particularly suitable for media containing fibers and fine solid particles.

1. Core Definition and Operating Principle

Structural Definition

The valve stem rotates 90° around its axis, switching media flow or switching flow direction. It is suitable for high-pressure systems such as hydraulic machinery and natural gas transmission.

The valve body is typically manufactured using a three-stage forging process (forged steel/stainless steel) to ensure structural integrity and eliminate the risk of casting defects.

Sealing Principle

Hard-seal technology: A tungsten carbide layer is spray-welded on the ball surface, and the seat is hard-welded with carbide. Disc spring preload compensates for thermal deformation under high pressure, achieving zero leakage (leakage rate ≤ 100 mm³/s x DN). Floating design: The medium pressure pushes the ball to press against the valve seat. The higher the pressure, the tighter the seal (applicable to diameters ≤ DN50)
