1. What does steel length size refer to?
Steel length size is the most basic size of various steels, which refers to the length, width, height, diameter, radius, inner diameter, outer diameter and wall thickness of steel. The legal measurement units of steel length are meters (m), centimeters (cm), and millimeters (mm). In current practice, it is also expressed in inches (〃), but it is not a legal measurement unit.
2. What does the range size of steel refer to?
Specifying the range size of steel is an effective measure to save materials. Range fixed size means that the length or length multiplied by width is not less than a certain size, or the length or length multiplied by width is delivered within a certain size range. Production units can produce and supply according to this size requirement.
3. What is unfixed size (usual length)?
Any product size (length or width) that is within the standard range but does not require a fixed size is called unfixed size. Unfixed length is also called usual length (through length). Metal materials delivered in unfixed size can be delivered as long as they are within the specified length range. For example, ordinary round steel not larger than 25mm is usually specified as 4 to 10m in length, so round steel within this range can be delivered.
4. What is fixed length?
Fixed length means cutting into fixed size according to order requirements. When delivering according to fixed length, the metal material delivered must have the length specified by the buyer in the order contract. For example, if the contract states that the delivery is to be made according to a fixed length of 5m, the delivered materials must all be 5m long, and those shorter or longer than 5m are unqualified. But in reality, it is impossible for all deliveries to be 5m long, so positive deviations are allowed, but negative deviations are not allowed.
5. What is multiple length?
Fixed length means cutting into integer multiples according to order requirements. When delivering according to multiple length, the length of the metal material delivered must be an integer multiple (plus saw cut) of the length (called single multiple) specified by the buyer in the order contract. For example, if the purchaser requires a single-length length of 2m in the order contract, then the length when cut into double length is 4m, and when cut into triple length is 6m, and one or two sawing lengths are added respectively.
The sawing length is specified in the standard. When delivering double lengths, only positive deviations are allowed, and negative deviations are not allowed.
