JIS G3466 Carbon steel square and rectangular tubes for general structure
JIS G3466 Structural Pipe (hereafter referred to as square steel pipes) is used for structures such as civil engineering and construction.
STKR 400, STKR 490 Pipe Size:
Grade: STKR 400, STKR 490
Square Size: 40*40mm-350*350mm
Rectangular Size: 20*50mm-200*400mm
Wall Thickness: 1.6-12mm
Corresponding standards: ASTM A500 Gr.A/B/C/D, EN 10219-1, EN 10210-1 S275JRH, S355J0H
Core Performance Advantages of JIS G3466 Structural Pipe
Balanced Mechanical Properties: STK400 boasts a tensile strength of ≥400 MPa and a yield strength of ≥245 MPa; STK490 boasts a tensile strength of ≥490 MPa and a yield strength of ≥325 MPa, meeting both the static load-bearing requirements of building frames and the dynamic loads of bridges and machinery.
Excellent Low-Temperature Toughness: Impact energy ≥27 J (V-notch) at -10°C, resisting brittle fracture in cold-weather structural applications, making it suitable for low-temperature environments such as Hokkaido and Northeast Asia.

Production method:
The manufacturing method shall be as follows:
a) Square steel pipes are manufactured by forming welded steel pipes (by electric resistance welding, forge welding, or automatic arc welding) or seamless steel pipes into square shapes, or by forming steel strips into a square cross-section or a pair of channel cross sections. , manufactured by continuous electric resistance welding or automatic arc welding.
b) Square steel pipes shall be as manufactured and normally not heat-treated.
c) Square steel pipes may be manufactured using galvanized steel sheets or galvanized steel strips if requested by the customer. In addition, when manufacturing square steel pipes using plated steel sheets or strips, it is desirable to apply the type of plating and coating weight shown in Annex A.
d) Pipe ends shall be plain ends unless otherwise specified. However, if the orderer specifies the bevel end, the shape shall be according to the agreement between the parties to the delivery.
Quality and Compliance
Implementation Standards: Fully compliant with the latest version of JIS G3466:2018, meeting the interoperability requirements of standards such as ISO 4200 (Structural Steel Pipes) and GB/T 8162 (Chinese Structural Seamless Pipes).
Quality Inspection: Each batch undergoes mechanical testing (tensile and impact), dimensional inspection, and weld non-destructive testing (UT/MT). A Material Certificate (MTC, compliant with JIS Z 2343) is also provided.
