1. Basic Certification Information
EN 10204 is the EU metal product material certification standard, which is used to declare that the inspection results are consistent with the order requirements. EN 10204 divides steel products into four types according to quality certification requirements, among which the 3.1 type certificate has a higher quality assurance and is one of the more stringent certification documents. EN 10204 3.1 certification is about metal materials, and steel pipes belong to its applicable metal product range.
2. Factory-related requirements
Quality management system
The enterprise needs to have a complete quality management system and an ISO9001 quality system. When the material manufacturer's quality management system meets the relevant requirements and passes the test, the authorized agency will sign PED 4.3 and grant the enterprise the qualification to issue EN 10204 3.1 type inspection documents. The authorized agency will visit the manufacturer regularly every year to ensure its maintenance and application of the established quality management system, and conduct a comprehensive review every three years.
3. Testing department independence
The testing department is required to be formally independent of the manufacturing department, that is, the manufacturing department does not conduct tests and has no right to change, modify or influence test results. This ensures that when used in conjunction with quality systems such as EN 9001:2010, the EN 10204 3.1 certification has higher authority, because the steel pipe is tested and certified by people who are independent of the steel pipe manufacturing.
4. Product testing requirements
Generate corresponding test results
The factory must generate test results for the steel pipe to be purchased. The test results are for the actual steel pipe purchased and accurately describe (within the scope of the sampling technology used for testing) the actual steel pipe purchased.
5. Specific test items
The auditor will conduct sampling tests at the company, mainly testing the chemical composition, impact test, tensile properties, etc. of the samples. The auditor will then write a technical document and submit it to the EU agency for filing together with the test report to complete the relevant certification process.
6. Certificate-related requirements
The EN 10204 3.1 certificate is a quality assurance document, a product factory inspection report, which records in detail the chemical composition, physical performance indicators, inspector signature, inspection agency certification number and other information of the manufacturer's factory products, so that customers or other countries or regions can meet import needs.
7. Other situation description
If the company cannot meet the above conditions and the export volume is not large, it can choose to have a third-party European test to conduct batch testing and certification, and issue EN 10204-3.2 materials (Note: EN 10204-3.2 certification is a single batch certification)
