For spiral steel pipes with larger diameters, cutting at the pipe installation site is a common problem.
Common cutting methods for large diameter spiral pipes:
- Manual gas cutting:
This method has many uncertain factors, the cutting shape cannot be controlled, and the cutting quality is poor.
- Magnetic automatic cutting machine:
When the ovality of the steel pipe is not good, the magnetic trolley walks along the pipe wall and the walking path changes. Especially for large-diameter steel pipes, it is difficult to maintain good ovality after welding and the cutting effect is not good. When the surface is coated, the magnetic force is reduced and the self-weight cannot be overcome, so the magnetic type cannot work. When cutting the spiral tube, the magnetic type is also easy to fall off, mainly because the magnetic field suddenly changes. The magnetic trolley is easy to fall off when passing through the weld of the spiral tube.
- Chain type automatic cutting machine:
The chain-type automatic cutting machine overcomes the shortcomings of the magnetic automatic cutting machine falling during the cutting process. However, there are gaps between the chain links. Using the chain as a track makes it difficult to ensure cutting accuracy. The larger the diameter of the steel pipe, the greater the error.
