Welding Technology for Thick-Walled Steel Pipes

S235JR thick-walled steel pipes are welded using multi-wire submerged arc welding (SAW) technology, combined with JCOE/UOE forming technology, performing multi-layer, multi-pass welding within a precision-machined X-groove. Optimized ratios of DC reverse polarity power supply and sintered flux ensure uniform penetration and stable weld formation in the thick-walled section. Strict interpass temperature control and online ultrasonic monitoring are implemented during welding, followed by immediate stress-relief annealing after welding. This ensures that the strength, toughness, and microstructure of the weld metal perfectly match the S235JR base material, fully meeting the load-bearing and fatigue resistance requirements of thick-walled pipe structures.
