Abrasives for Straight Seam Welded Pipe Spraying (Pouring)

To achieve ideal rust removal results, the abrasive should be selected based on factors such as the surface hardness of the straight seam welded pipe equipment, the degree of original rust, the required surface roughness, and the coating type. For single-layer epoxy resin, double-layer, or triple-layer polyethylene coatings, a mixture of steel grit and steel shot is more likely to achieve ideal rust removal results. Steel shot strengthens the steel surface, while steel grit etches it. A mixture of steel grit and steel shot (typically steel shot with a hardness of 40-50 HRC and steel grit with a hardness of 50-60 HRC) can be used on various steel surfaces, even C-grade and D-grade rusted steel surfaces, with excellent rust removal results.
