API 5L X56 specification covers welded, ERW and seamless pipes, mainly used for oil and gas transportation. We are one of the largest API 5L X56 pipe suppliers in China. Customers can tell us their requirements when placing an order and we will customize API 5L X56 Pipe according to their needs.There are two product grades of X56 Pipe, namely PSL1 and PSL2.Both API 5L X56m PSL2 and PLS1 grades are suitable for welded pipes. However, for API 5L X56 PSL2 material, the steel should be quenched and melted in accordance with fine grain practices. In addition, plate or coil for X56 grade PSL2 pipe should not contain any repair welds.

Chemical requirements
For each 0.0 I percent decrease in the maximum carbon content below the specified level, a 0.05 percent increase in the maximum manganese content above the specified level is permitted, up to a maximum of 1.50 percent for API 5L X42, X46, and X52 grades, up to a maximum of 1.65 percent for grades higher than X52 but lower than X70, such as API 5L X56, X60, and X65, and up to 2.00 percent for grades X70 and higher. Maximum 2.00%. The following additional limits apply to API 5L pipe and tubing.
1.) The combined columbium, niobium and vanadium content shall not exceed 0.03%, unless alternative maximum values can be established with the agreement of the purchaser and the manufacturer.
2.) Coltan, Niobium and Vanadium or a combination thereof may be used at the discretion of the manufacturer.
3.) The sum of columbium1 , niobium, vanadium and titanium content shall not exceed 0.15%.
4.) The sum of columbium, niobium and vanadium content shall not exceed 0.06%, unless alternative maximum values can be determined by agreement between the purchaser and the manufacturer.
5.) Further chemical compositions may be supplied by agreement between the purchaser and the manufacturer, provided that the limits are footnoted and that the phosphorus and sulphur limits in the tables are met.

Permitted changes
Wall Thickness: The minimum wall thickness at any point or end on API 5L pipe and tubing shall not be greater than 12.5% of the specified nominal thickness.
I.D.: For pipe ordered by I.D., the I.D. shall not deviate more than 1% from the required/specified I.D.
