Products Description

API 5L X42 pipe, also known as L290 pipe (according to ISO 3183), is named after the minimum yield strength of 42,100 Psi or 290 Mpa. It is a higher grade than B. API 5L has various grades up to X100, so x42 pipe is a low to medium grade and is required in large quantities in most oil and gas transmission pipelines.GNEE offers API 5L X42/L290 welded ERW and HFW, LSAW. the product specifications are PSL1 and PSL2, with sizes ranging from the usual 4-inch, 6-inch, 8-inch, 10-inch, 12-inch, 16-inch, 20-inch all the way up to 60 inches.

 

API 5L X46 pipe is the low to mid-range piping material in the API 5L standard specification. Also known as L320 pipe because of its minimum yield strength of 320 Mpa (46,400 psi). Minimum tensile strength 435 Mpa.API 5L X46 covers seamless and welded (ERW, SAW) types of fabrication types, both suitable for oil and gas transmission.It contains two product specification levels PSL1, PSL2. (Includes material for sour service in PSL2)

 

API 5L X52 pipe is also known as L360 pipe, X52 (L360) is named after the minimum yield strength of 52 Ksi (360 Mpa). It is an intermediate grade in the API 5L and ISO 3183 specifications for oil and gas pipeline transmission.

Test Requirements

Hydrostatic Test: 100% hydrostatic test with no leakage from welds or pipe body. Connections or joints need not be hydrostatically tested if the pipe section used has been successfully tested.

BEND TEST: There shall be no cracks or weld openings in any part of the specimen.

Flattening Test: The flattening test is used to verify the performance of the pipe under deformation. It shall show resistance to longitudinal cracking and circumferential cracking, including internal and external defects.

For ERW pipe over 12.75 inches in diameter;
For pipe > 10 OD/wt, welds shall not have openings until the distance between plates is less than 30% of the original OD.

Guided Bend Test: Complete fracture; showing any crack or rupture in the weld metal exceeding 3.2 mm in length, regardless of depth. or reveals a length in excess of 3.2 mm or a depth in excess of 12.5% of the wall thickness in the base metal, heat affected zone, or fusion line.

CVN Impact Test: (Required for PSL2 pipe, for seamless pipe the test shall be performed with the pipe body, for welded test including the pipe body, weld and heat affected zone HAZ test) DWT Test: (Required for PSL2 pipe)
