API 5L Grade B PSL2 WELD PIPE
Introduction
The minimum yield strength of API 5L Grade B steel pipe is 25,000 PSI, and the minimum tensile strength is 45,000 PSI. Manganese sulfides are common inclusions in all manganese alloy steels. Because they are prone to segregation, leading to reduced impact strength, sulfur content needs to be minimized. We specify a maximum sulfur content of 0.015%.

API 5L Class B Pipe Hydrostatic Test
According to API 5L standards, all Class B pipes must undergo a hydrostatic test before leaving the factory. The test pressure must not be lower than 90% of the specified minimum yield strength, and the pressure holding time must be no less than 5 seconds. During this test, the pipe body must not exhibit any form of leakage or permanent deformation to ensure that the pipeline can withstand the rated working pressure in subsequent use.
