API 5L B grade welded steel pipes have a higher absolute surface roughness than seamless steel pipes. Seamless steel pipes are suitable for applications requiring higher dimensional accuracy. The pipes can also be manufactured using hot rolling and cold drawing processes. API 5L B grade PSL1 line steel pipes are available with various coatings, such as fusion-bonded epoxy coating, galvanizing, sandblasting, and machining. API 5L B grade PSL2 steel pipes have superior mechanical properties compared to PSL1 steel pipes and are suitable for high-stress applications. This material exhibits high resistance to corrosion cracking. Because API 5L B grade steel pipes are made of carbon steel, they possess high toughness and wear resistance.
