A283 GRC carbon steel pipe Description
A283 GRC carbon steel welded pipe is a low to medium strength carbon structural steel welded pipe based on ASTM A283/A283M standard, which is specialised in the field of construction, machinery manufacturing and low to medium pressure vessels.
C belongs to C grade of ASTM A283 standard, with yield strength ≥205 MPa and tensile strength 380-515 MPa, which is suitable for the manufacture of non-critical pressure-bearing structural parts.
Chemical composition
Carbon (C) ≤ 0.24%, manganese (Mn) ≤ 0.90%, sulfur (S) ≤ 0.040%, phosphorus (P) ≤ 0.035%, low sulfur and phosphorus content to enhance welding performance and corrosion resistance.
Application
Building structure: bridge support member, steel structure frame and floor substrate.
Machinery manufacturing: pressure vessel shells, machine tool bases and bearing housings.
Energy equipment: low and medium pressure storage tanks, boiler shells and non-pressure-bearing parts of chemical reactors.
Quality Control
Testing standards: chemical composition analysis, tensile test and elongation (≥22%) verification in accordance with ASTM A283 requirements.
Weld inspection: ultrasonic or ray flaw detection to ensure no cracks, porosity and other defects
