Q235B Spiral Submerged Arc Welded Pipe Introduction

Q235B spiral submerged arc welded pipe is a high-performance pipe made from carbon structural steel with a yield strength of 235MPa, formed through spiral rolling and submerged arc welding. Its core characteristic lies in the structural advantages of the spiral weld, which results in a more uniform stress distribution, combining good pressure resistance with flexibility. The production process employs double-sided submerged arc welding, ensuring deep penetration and high density of the weld. Subsequent processes include hydrostatic testing, non-destructive testing, and anti-corrosion coating treatment, making it widely applicable to medium and low-pressure applications such as water transportation, oil and gas transmission, and structural support.

Forming Methods of SSAW Carbon Steel Welded Pipes

Butt-welded pipes are formed by feeding a hot steel plate into a forming machine and rolling it into a hollow circle. Then, the two ends of the steel plate are pressed together to form a weld joint.

Spiral welded pipes are made by twisting metal strips into a spiral shape and then welding them together at the edges to form a weld. Due to their thin walls, this type of pipe is limited to low-pressure piping systems.
