Spiral pipe, also known as spiral steel pipe or spiral welded pipe, is made by rolling low-carbon structural steel or low-alloy structural steel strip into a pipe at a specific helix angle (called the forming angle) and then welding it. Large-diameter steel pipes can be made from narrow steel strips. Straight seam welded pipe has advantages such as simple production process, high production efficiency, low cost, and rapid development.

Manufacturing Process of Q235B Spiral Welded Pipe

The manufacturing of Q235B spiral welded pipes is based on continuous forming and automated welding. The production line first performs online pretreatment on the Q235B hot-rolled steel strip, including leveling, edge milling, and pre-bending, to ensure the geometric accuracy and forming stability of the strip edges. In the spiral forming stage, a three-roll bending system and dynamic adjustment device continuously curl the strip at a constant progressive angle, forming a uniformly structured pipe body. The welding system employs multi-wire submerged arc welding technology, simultaneously performing multi-layer welding on the inner and outer surfaces of the spiral weld, ensuring not only the quality of the weld penetration but also significantly improving welding efficiency. After forming, the pipe section undergoes a medium-frequency induction heating weld heat treatment process, effectively improving the metallographic structure and mechanical properties of the weld zone. Finally, a full-pipe mechanical diameter expansion and a combined eddy current and ultrasonic testing system achieve dimensional accuracy control and comprehensive defect screening, ensuring the reliability of the product in pressure pipelines and structural applications.
