The A252 standard applies to cylindrical steel pipe piles expressed in terms of nominal (average) police thickness, as well as steel pipe piles used as permanent load-bearing members or steel pipe piles used as mold shells for poured concrete piles on site.A252 welded pipes are smelted by steelmaking methods such as flat furnaces, oxygen top-blowing converters, and electric furnaces. Determination of the yield point of A252 welded pipe shall be made by dropping the crossbar, stopping the pointer of the tester's measuring force dial, and using a dividing gauge or other approved methods. When presenting no clear yield point, shall determine the yield strength equivalent to 0.2% residual deformation of the specimen scale, or shall determine the yield strength equivalent to 0.5% total elongation of the specimen scale under load.
