STK540 Structural Pipes

STK540 steel pipe meets the requirements of Japanese standard JIS G3444, belongs to carbon pipe for general structural use, the outer diameter is less than 318.5mm, and is used in towers, scaffolding, pillars, foundation piles, anti-skid piles and other civil engineering and buildings.
STK540 steel pipe specimen requirements:
(1) The specimen is one of No.11, No.12A, No.12B, No.12C or No.5 of JIS Z2201, cut from the pipe. No.5 specimen is applicable to the pipe permitted by the demand side or the pipe with the outside diameter of not less than 200mm, cut transversely from the pipe, and made into flat piece. However, the outside diameter of more than 350mm resistance welding pipe and arc welding pipe according to (2) and (3) provisions
(2) For resistance welded pipe and arc welded pipe with an outside diameter greater than 350mm, the specimen No. 5 in J1S Z2201 is used, and the method of preparation is as follows
(a) Tubes with expanded tube forming are taken from the tube.
(b) For tubes other than those formed by flaring, taken from the tube or the steel strip or plate used in making the tube.
(3) Arc welded pipe weld part tensile test specimen, from the pipe or the tube welded with the tube body in the intermediate conditions of the pipe end of the specimen cut, made of flat sheet, according to the provisions of the JIS Z3121 processed into a No. 1 specimen
Test method
The test method shall be performed according to JIS Z2241. When there is a welded portion, test the tensile strength.
