Electric Resistance Welded Pipe Description
ERW welded steel pipe is widely used in the oil and gas industry and is manufactured to ASTM standards (ANSI). Flat steel coils or rolls are fed to the forming section, which transforms the flat steel strip into round pipe sections. A high-frequency welder heats the strip edges to a melting point of 2600°F. Pressure rollers then squeeze the heated edges together to form a fusion weld. Resistance welded pipe production process is simple, high production efficiency, more varieties and specifications, less investment in equipment, but the general strength is lower than seamless steel pipe.

Difference Between Resistance Welded Pipe And Electrofusion Welded Pipe
Resistance welding pipe is used without filler metal pressure welding, weld is not filled with other components, relying on high-frequency current skin effect and proximity effect, so that the edge of the plate is instantly heated to the welding temperature, by the extrusion rollers extrusion to form a forging organization of the weld.
