20# Welded Round Steel Pipe Description
20# resistance welded pipe is a welded steel pipe with 20# mild steel + resistance welding process as the core.
The 20# steel strip is straightened and curled into a billet, which is roll-formed into a round or shaped cross-section, and then the edges of the billet are heated by high-frequency currents to a molten state, and pressurised to form a continuous weld; some of the 20# pipes need to be normalised, straightened, or have a surface anticorrosion treatment (e.g., galvanised) to enhance their performance. The welded seams of 20# steel pipe are then pressurised to form a continuous welded seam.
The welded seam of 20# steel pipe needs to be ensured free of cracks, porosity and other defects by eddy current flaw detection and hydraulic pressure test.
