Commonly used Q235B steel pipe standards are generally divided into the following categories: SY/T5037-2000 (Ministry-level standard, also known as spiral submerged arc welded steel pipe for ordinary fluid transportation pipelines), GB/T9711.1-1997 (National standard, also known as steel pipe for the oil and gas industry) Technical Conditions Part 1: Grade A steel pipes (strictly in accordance with GB/T9711.2 Grade B steel pipe standards), API-5L (American Petroleum Institute standard, also known as pipeline steel pipes), and SY/T5040-92 (spiral submerged arc welded steel pipes for piling).

Q235B Steel Pipe Production Process

Both internal and external welds utilize Lincoln Electric welding machines from the USA, employing single-wire or double-wire submerged arc welding to achieve stable welding performance. Weld seams are inspected using an online continuous ultrasonic automatic flaw detector, ensuring 100% non-destructive testing coverage of the spiral weld seams. Steel pipes are cut into individual pipes using an air plasma cutting machine. After cutting, the first three pipes of each batch undergo rigorous initial inspection to ensure the pipe manufacturing process is qualified before formal production. Components with continuous ultrasonic flaw detection marks on the weld seams require manual ultrasonic and X-ray re-inspection. Steel pipes at the intersection of strip butt welds and D-joints with spiral weld seams require X-ray television or video inspection. Each steel pipe undergoes a hydrostatic test, with pressure applied using a radial seal. The test pressure and time are strictly controlled by a hydraulic microcomputer testing device for the steel pipe, and test parameters are automatically printed and recorded. Pipe ends undergo precision machining to accurately control end face perpendicularity, bevel angle, and obtuse angle.
