Product introduction
Like Q235, Q235B has an iron content exceeding 98% and contains trace amounts of carbon, silicon, manganese, phosphorus, and sulfur. Q235B is processed using a hot-rolling process, resulting in improved weldability, plasticity, and ductility compared to standard Q235. Both are low-carbon steels, but Q235B is generally more suitable for applications with higher performance requirements for structural components, such as construction, bridges, shipbuilding, and vehicle manufacturing.

Surface Treatment of Q235B Welded Pipe
The surface treatment of Q235B welded pipe aims to improve its corrosion resistance and appearance. The main processes include hot-dip galvanizing, spraying, and anti-rust oil coating. Hot-dip galvanizing is the most widely used method, immersing the welded pipe in molten zinc to form a dense zinc-iron alloy layer and a pure zinc layer, providing long-term electrochemical protection. Spraying treatments include epoxy resin and polyethylene coatings, forming a physical barrier through electrostatic or dip-coating processes, suitable for specific corrosive environments. Additionally, anti-rust oil coating can be used for short-term rust prevention during storage. All treatments require pretreatment such as degreasing, pickling, and phosphating to ensure substrate cleanliness and coating adhesion, ultimately significantly extending the service life of the welded pipe under atmospheric, soil, and water transport conditions.
