A358 EFW Welded Pipe Description
A358 electric fusion welded pipe is an electric fusion welded austenitic chromium-nickel stainless steel pipe suitable for corrosive or high-temperature conditions, or both, as well as for general applications. A358 welded pipes come in five grades: Grade 1, Grade 2, Grade 3, Grade 4, and Grade 5, each with different meanings and requirements.
A358 Grade 1 pipes must be double welded with filler metal in all weld passes and fully radiographed.
A358 Grade 2 pipes must be double welded with filler metal in all weld passes but do not require radiography.
A358 Grade 3 pipes must be single welded with filler metal in all weld passes and fully radiographed.
A358 Grade 4 pipes are similar to Grade 3 but do not require filler metal in the weld pass exposed to the interior of the pipe.
A358 Grade 5 pipes must be double welded with filler metal in all weld passes and must undergo spot radiography.
Among these grades, A358 Grade 2 pipes are the most commonly used.
