A691 alloy pipe is electric welded alloy steel pipe for high temperature and high pressure.

A691 Standard Chemical Composition Requirements
1. Plate Product Analysis-The pipe manufacturer shall analyze each heat of plate material. The product analysis so determined shall conform to the requirements of the plate specification for the material ordered.
2. Weld Product Analysis-The pipe manufacturer shall analyze each 200 feet [60 meters] or portion thereof of finished deposited weld metal. The analysis shall conform to the welding procedure for the deposited weld metal.
3. Analysis may be made from mechanical test specimens. The results of the analysis shall be reported to the purchaser.
4. If the analysis of one of the tests specified in 1 or 2 does not conform to the specified requirements, twice the original number of additional pipes from the same lot shall be analyzed, each of which shall conform to the specified requirements. Nonconforming pipe shall be rejected.
