A672 L70 EFW Pipe Description
A672 L70 electric fusion welded pipe is an electric fusion welded steel pipe for medium temperature and high pressure under the ASTM A672 standard, which is specially used for conveying medium temperature (≤450℃) high pressure fluids (such as water, steam, gas, etc.). Its core feature is that it is manufactured by electric fusion welding (EFW) or straight seam submerged arc welding (LSAW) process, with high weld quality, suitable for scenes with strict requirements on strength and sealing.
L70 means that the minimum yield strength of the steel pipe is 70ksi (about 483MPa), which belongs to the medium and high strength grade and can withstand higher pressure.
Nondestructive testing: X-ray flaw detection (RT) and ultrasonic flaw detection (UT) ensure that the weld is free of defects;
Pressure test: Water pressure test verifies the pressure bearing capacity, usually 1.5 times the design pressure.
