A672 J90 EFW pipe Description
A672 J90 is a carbon or low alloy steel electrofusion welded pipe for use in medium, high temperature and high pressure fluid transfer systems.
Strength Grade:
J90: Indicates a minimum yield strength of 90 ksi (approximately 620 MPa), which is a high yield strength grade that requires alloying elements or heat treatment to enhance properties.
Chemical Composition:
Carbon (C ≤ 0.30%), manganese (Mn ≤ 1.65%), silicon (Si 0.15% ~ 0.40%) is the main to meet the basic strength requirements
Heat treatment process:
Normalising (CL12): Refine the grain and improve the toughness;
Normalising + tempering (CL22/CL32): balancing strength and low-temperature impact toughness, suitable for high pressure scenarios.
Welding technology: Electrofusion welding (EFW) or double-sided submerged arc welding (SAWL) to ensure that the strength of the weld is consistent with that of the base material.
