3LPE coated pipes are used in oil and gas, power generation, electric power, shipbuilding and other applications where reduced wear is required. Three layers of 3LPE pipe coating offer structural advantages. The first layer is a primer that bonds to the pipe, the second layer is a copolymer that acts as a holding adhesive for the third layer, and the third layer is a tougher polyethylene with actual wear and tear resistance . The addition of these layers gives triple-layer polyethylene-coated pipe a lifespan of up to 75 years. This reduces costs and makes the pipeline more cost-effective. 3 coats of epoxy coating can be applied to any type of pipe made of carbon steel and other materials.
