ASTM A500 Square Steel PIPE

The steel pipe specification is seamless cold formed carbon steel pipe. This grade of pipe is available in round, square and rectangular shapes. The minimum tensile strength of ASTM A500 steel pipe is 427MPa and the minimum yield strength is 317MPa. ASTM A500 steel pipe has the highest tensile strength. The minimum tensile strength of ASTM A500 steel pipe is 310MPa and the minimum yield strength is 228MPa. ASTM A500 No. 40 pipe is one of the medium specification pipes that can withstand good pressure and temperature. The pipe is available in different surface finishes, and the unfinished one is ASTM A500 black steel pipe. The composition includes carbon, manganese, sulfur, phosphorus and copper (as specified). The chemical combination is responsible for the strength and corrosion resistance of ASTM A500 pipe. The pipe can also be welded by most welding methods, but care must be taken to preheat the pipe before welding by high temperature procedures such as arc welding to avoid weld cracks. Post-weld heat treatment is also required after high-temperature welding.
